johannssson az kakkWerder Bremen have targeted Johannsson after losing Franco di Santo to Schalke recently, but had their first offer rejected by AZ Alkmaar. Now after returning to AZ, the Bundesliga club have agreed a deal believed to be around €5 million for the American international.

Johannsson will now travel to Germany to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms.

The 24-year-old joined AZ Alkmaar from Danish side AFG Aarhus in 2013 and in 58 appearances Johansson netted 29 goals.

His departure has been softened by the arrival of Vincent Janssen who netted 10 times during pre-season, and was behind the 2-0 win over Basaksehir in the Europa League last week.
