vitesse e1. AZ Alkmaar and Vitesse are genuine title contenders:

After 12 weeks AZ Alkmaar sit at the top of the Eredivise table after their 2-0 win over ADO Den Haag on Sunday, and new coach Dick Advocaat has turned them into an even better side than the one that won the KNVB Cup last year.

Vitesse continued their great season with a 1-0 victory over Ajax, and sit 2nd. Lucas Piazon is turning into the signing of the season, and his skill, and vision is turning Vitesse into title contenders.

2. Siem de Jong is off form:

Ajax are struggling this season, and this weekends defeat to Vitesse is the latest poor result for Frank De Boer’s men. Captain Siem de Jong looks a shadow of the player that led his side to their third title in a row last year. During the game with Vitesse, his lack of confidence showed when presented with a golden opportunity in front of goal, the midfielder elected to pass when he surely should have scored himself.

3. Twente hate playing at home on Saturdays:

Twente threw away a two goal lead against bottom side NEC Nijmegen with the game finishing 2-2. This makes it five draws in a row at De Grolsch Veste on Saturday nights for Twente!

4. Roda JC love a 3-3 draw:

After coming back from a losing position three times, Roda JC escaped the Euroborg stadium with a 3-3 draw thanks to two penalties. This now makes it three times this season that Roda have recorded a 3-3 draw after the same result against Heerenveen and Utrecht.

5. Feyenoord have a plan B:

Often criticised for relying to much on top scorer Graziano Pelle, Feyenoord proved that they did have a plan B when they took on Cambuur without the suspended Italian. The Rotterdam side fought out a 2-0 win with substitute striker Mitchell Te Vrede among the goals.
