The 24-year-old has spent the past few months on loan with Wigan, but the club have now announced that Wildschut has signed a three-and-a-half year deal to make his move permanent.
Wildschut told the official Wigan website, “I have loved playing for Wigan, everyone at the club has been great to me, the fans sing my name, and I’m so happy that everything is now done. I can concentrate on playing now again and helping us climb the table.”
The former Heerenveen winger joined Middelesbrough in 2014 but after only 14 appearances for the Championship side he joined Wigan on loan in the summer. Wildschut has impressed in League one, with four goals in seventeen games persuading Wigan to pay £1 million for the Dutchman.
