The former PSV star now joins an elite group of Dutchmen in the Premier League history books after the four goals which inspired his side to their first win of the season.
Wijnaldum was only the 7th Dutchman to score a hat-trick in the Premier League, joining Robin van Persie, Dennis Bergkamp, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Dirk Kuyt and Marc Overmars.
However Wijnaldum is only the second Dutchman to net four in a Premier League game after Hasselbaink did the same for Chelsea in a 6-1 win over Coventry in 2000.
Its the third time in his career that Wijnaldum has scored three goals in a game, and the second time he has netted four after he did that versus Groningen for Feyenoord in February 2011.
For Newcastle United, Wijnaldum is the first man to score four goals in a game since the legendary Alan Shearer smashed five past Sheffield Wednesday in 1999.
Wijnaldum now has six goals in seven Premier League appearances this season and Newcastle united fans will be hoping for more from Gini when they face rivals Sunderland next week.
