According to The Athletic, Georginio Wijnaldum is close to agreeing a new contract with Liverpool.

The Dutch international has been a key player for the Premier League leaders this season but his contract expires in the summer of 2021.

Last month, Wijnaldum claimed that his future was up in the air, but according to ‘The Athletic’, a new deal is now close to being announced.

The 29-year-old has been with Liverpool since 2016 and has made 171 appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals and adding 16 assists.
