Reports this week in the Sun has stated the 22-year-old left back, who can also play in the centre of defence, was top of Celtic boss Ronny Delia’s wish list this summer as he faces the prospect of losing Virgil van Dijk.
Speaking to Voetbal.com Dijks has confirmed that he is aware of the interest from Celtic, and that the Scottish champions have made an offer to his agent.
Dijks said, “I’ve actually heard that they are interested. They have made an offer to my agent. Celtic is obviously a great club and they again plays in the Champions League.”
The defender joined Willem II from Ajax on a free transfer last summer, and it has been reported that any deal will see most of the fee go to the Amsterdam club, due to an agreement between the two sides.
Dijks has made 26 appearances in the Eredivisie this season, and could cost Celtic around £1 million.
