dost douDost was left out of the starting eleven for the game on Saturday but came off the bench to net twice late on to keep Wolfsburg in the hunt at the top of the table.

Speaking to Kicker Magazine Wolfsburg boss Dieter Hecking revealed the striker’s attitude after being substituted in the Champions League win over CSKA Moscow was the reason for him being dropped.

Hecking said, “I was pleased for the team that he scored twice, but the way he has been sauntering around here these past few days is egotism and we don’t need anything like that here,’

“If somebody strolls around for three days as if somebody has taken his toy away then he’s got to reconsider his attitude towards the rest of the team.”

On whether Dost would start v Bayern Munich, Hecking concluded, “I’m going to leave him alone for three days, just like he did with the team. Then we will be able to see whether it’s a good idea or not, whether we should talk about it or not or whether he goes public with his frustration.

“If he thinks that is the right way, then he’s in the wrong place in Wolfsburg.”
