SC Heerenveen have strengthened their squad with the addition of keeper Wouter van der Steen from Helmond Sport.

steenThe goalkeeper has played more than one hundred and forty games in professional football and is widely expected to be the back-up to Heerenveen first choice Erwin Mulder. Van der Steen previously played as first choice for Helmond Sport, who play in the Jupiler League, between 2012 and 2016.

Heerenveen’s Technical Manager, Gerry Hamstra, commented on the transfer saying “We are delighted that Wouter is joining us. He takes a lot of experience with him, he has gained as a goalkeeper in the Jupiler League,”

Wouter van der Steen joins Heerenveen on a free transfer follow the expiry of his contract.
