According to reports in Portugal, Norwich City had agreed a fee of €4 million with Sporting Lisbon for the 26-year-old and Zeegelaar held talks with the Championship side.
However, according to Voetbal International, Zeegelaar has rejected the chance to move to England as he doesn’t feel a move to the 10th placed side in the Championship was right for his career.
Zeegelaar follows in the footsteps of fellow Dutchman Mitchell Dijks, who also rejected a chance to join Norwich, despite a fee being agreed with Ajax.
What a knobshiner
Why? He’s currently in a team competing for Champions League football. Why would he move to a team that probably won’t get out of the Championship?
