West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of young Chinese striker Zhang Yuning from Vitesse Arnhem, but have sent him on loan to Werder Bremen for the next two seasons.

At only 20 years old, the striker is seen as one for the future – and the Baggies will certainly have to be patient with the player. Because China have not reached the required level in the FIFA world rankings, Zhang does not qualify for a work visa in the UK, with the German top flight subsequently being seen as the best place to continue his development.

Zhang has been with the Vitesse Arnhem for two years, during which time he made 27 appearances and scored 4 goals. He was part of the squad that won the KNVB Cup last season but saw his chances of first team football limited under Henk Fraser.
