After making a big impression for Bayern Munich since the turn of the year, Zirkzee’s name was put forward as a potential striker for the Oranje national team.
Speaking to VTBL, the 18-year-old hinted that he has secretly thought of earning a European Championship spot with Netherlands.
He said, “No, I’m not really working on that yet. I’m not a regular base player here, so I don’t think I should think about it then, but I have also seen how fast things can go, so of course it is very secretly in the back of your mind. Orange is a dream and as a young footballer I think it makes sense to dream about it.”
The Bundesliga title is the first priority for the youngster when the season gets back underway, “Certainly, that is the first step. But we also really want to win the Champions League, the whole club longs for that. Even though we first have to see how it will all end. We all hope that we can go again soon.”
