Hakim Ziyech has pledged his future to Ajax by signing a new contract with the Amsterdam club.

The midfielder was widely expected to depart Ajax this summer after an excellent campaign last season. However, Ziyech made it clear he would only leave for a major club.

Sevilla made him an offer a few weeks ago, but Ziyech turned down the move to Spain and has now signed a one-year extension on his contract with Ajax, binding him to the club until 2022.

Ziyech becomes the latest Ajax start to commit to the club after Andre Onana, Nicolás Tagliafico, Noussair Mazraoui, Dusan Tadic and David Neres.

Ajax signed Ziyech from FC Twente back in 2016. He has since made 133 appearances for the club, scoring 42 goals and adding 62 assists.
