Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech spoke to the NOS after his team’s 4-1 win at home to Olympique Lyon in the Europa League semi-final first leg.

The midfielder who assisted three goals last night stated that the team know what they have to do in the 2nd leg next Thursday.
Ziyech said, ”It was fantastic for the team tonight especially with such a great atmosphere. We were sluggish during the first 20 minutes and then we managed to score twice in quick succession and in the 2nd half we managed to build on that.
”You see how important confidence is for us as a young team and that gives us a boost. It’s also great for the fans to be able to enjoy it.
”We have a lot of young talents and we want to keep improving in the future.
”We knew that we had to keep it at 3-0 and it is a shame that we conceded the away goal. We created a lot of chances and it could have been 4, 5 or even 6-1 if we had taken them.
”We must not think that the job is done. I believe that we thought the same heading off to Germany for the 2nd leg against FC Schalke in the quarter-final and we quickly came down to earth. We have learnt from the last time and we know what we have to do in 8 days time ”.
