In possibly his final game for the club, Hakim Ziyech inspired FC Twente to a 3-1 win over Sparta Rotterdam in Rotterdam.

ziySaturday morning’s newspapers were full of speculation on Ziyech’s future with the midfielder linked with a move to Ajax and Fenerbahce, while several other European clubs are keen on the Moroccan.

Against Sparta Rotterdam, Ziyech showed exactly why he was a wanted man with two excellent goals which helped his side claim their second win of the season. Firstly the midfielder opened the scoring on fourteen minutes with a clever finish which wrong-footed the Sparta goalkeeper before Yaw Yeboah made it 2-0 for Twente on 38 minutes with a nice strike into the top corner.

Sparta Rotterdam pulled one back early in the second half with Loris Brogno netting a penalty after a silly challenge from Nick Marsman on Craig Goodwin. However, Ziyech quickly restored Twente’s two-goalĀ advantage with a wonderful low strike into the bottom corner after dribbling his way past two dazzled Sparta defenders.

Ziyech was substituted near the end and the Enschede faithful showed their appreciation for the midfielder, who will almost certainly leave the club before the window shuts next week.
