ziyech twe tweThe Twente captain has spoken on several occasions of his desire to leave the struggling Eredivisie side, but in an interview with De Volkskrant, Ziyech has laid into his teammates, the Twente board and his former Heerenveen coach Marco van Basten.

He said on the current Twente team, “We have a young team, of course. And I understand that some players struggle with their motivation and confidence. But sometimes I see them make mistakes and I think, did you learn from it? ”

“The Football is becoming less. I often feel compelled to seek the same players. Mokotjo and Cabral especially. I feel that I stop. It eats away at me. I want more.”

Ziyech then took aim at the club’s board for sacking Alfred Schreuder earlier this season, stating ” It is completely ridiculous that he’s fired. It is becoming much worse.”

The decision to sack Schreuder saw Ziyech try to hand in his captain’s armband, but the board persuaded him not too. However Ziyech has revealed that it made up his mind to leave the club. He added, “I agreed. But I have decided: I’m leaving.”

On his often vocal criticism of the club, Ziyech stated, “I was completely done with it. If people have problems with it, that does not interest me. Since then, I am no longer loved by the fans. Whatever.”

Ziyech then took aim at his former Heerenveen coach Van Basten, with the midfielder believing he stunted his development, “Van Basten is a big name, but not a top coach.

“He has realized at AZ that he is not suited for it. He should have done it already at Heerenveen. Now he is yet again an assistant at Orange. When you know people or have a big name You’ll always be pushed into it. For me, quality counts. “
